Chopper Spins Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Beach
A chopper flying near a well-attended California shoreline suddenly started spinning wildly, finally descending rapidly and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Recordings uploaded on social media capture the aircraft beginning to twirl over the beach then descending in the direction of the border of the coast, where it becomes wedged between palm groves and a steps adjacent to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters said five people were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the crash on the weekend.
Three persons on the road were hurt. Information on their wounds were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
